For over a hundred years, visually impaired craftsmen and women at SRF Hantverk in Sweden have been making brushes by hand, according to an old 19th Century tradition. Most of the brushes are produced entirely from natural materials. Birch, oak or beech wood is used for handles and the wooden grips, and horsehair, goat hair and various vegetable fibres are used for the bristles, depending on what the brush is to be used for.
Today, as always, the focus at SRF Hantverk is on functional design, carefully selected natural materials and expert craftsmanship.
