NEW: Brass Bullets & Black Trekkers!

Paul C Fisher spent over US$2 million dollars of his own money to achieve his objective of a writing instrument that would perform in the weightlessness of space. Selected by NASA in 1967 for use on the Apollo Missions. Now used on all manned space flights: American & Russian.

Instead of the ink dropping via gravity, the Fisher Space Pen's ink is fed by pressurized nitrogen. Apart from its ability to work in space (probably not a key feature for most of us) this, along with its better tungsten carbide ball, makes it one of the smoothest writing and most reliable ballpoints around. Also (and this is key) it writes: on all surfaces, in the freezing cold (-30ºF), in extreme heat (+250ºF), at any angle, upside down, and even under water. Notes left on front doors and crossword puzzles in bed are a breeze.

After giving several as 21st birthday presents, all still prized after 10+ years, I finally got one - silver bullet with clip - given to me (put one on your REMO wishlist - it works!). | A Must Have Item
Have lost a couple of these as the Bullets can be slippery little suckers when in a pocket so I'm thinking it's time I tested out one of the Trekkers. They go fabulously well with my Moleskines. Unfortunately they do lose a star because I echo the sentiments of another reviewer re the consistency of the ink.

| Always have a pen handy (& this is a handy pen!)
I keep my Fisher Space Pen tucked into the case of my iPAQ organiser - the electronic age is all well & good, but sometimes a girl just needs a pen! I have used this to write at awkward angles, on grease-stained paper, and even on a drinking glass (just out of curiosity, you understand!). Not only is it very handy, it's stylish, small (I have the silver bullet), & a definite conversation starter. My only criticism is that I would like the ink to be darker & a bit more definite - apart from that, I love it.
