Joseph Hudson was a Birmingham trained toolmaker. Whistles were his passion. Throughout the 1870s he made numerous types and designs in his humble workshop. His first big break came in 1883 when his Metropolitan Whistle was adopted as the official whistle of the London Bobby.

In 1884 the Acme Thunderer was launched. This was the first and is still the worlds leading pea whistle. It offers total reliability and is actually the world's biggest selling whistle. (Have you ever seen a referee without one?) In fact, there is not a major league or sport that has not been graced by this whistle.

Remo, I still have the "Koala Bear falling out of tree" t shirt you made when we lived in the East Village on 13th street in 1985. Congratulations on great site. Stay in touch.
