| Oh no! The cellophane box wrapper that could be flicked open with a finger nail has been replaced with a fiercely resistant shrink wrapper - that only yields to a sharp knife. But this pales into insignificance compared with the horrors wrought upon the ginger candies inside. The stiff paper candy wrapper has gone, the inner rice wrapper has gone, the lovely log of ginger candy has gone. What we have instead is a vacuum pack of inedible, non-recyclable 'foil' inside of which now sits an amorphous blob of ginger candy that has to be wrenched from the wrapper. The taste appears to be the same (so I still score the product at a 5) - but the whole charming ginger candy experience has gone. Alas.

| Addictive. No wonder they come in a cigarette like packet,
it's because they're just as addictive,and the
rice paper wrapper just melts in ypur mouth,
literally.

| a magical discovery A ginger-lover's dream. Chewy, peppery, rice-paper covered-treats, and thank you for sending me them as a surprise, gratis with my latest order. It pays to be a VSC.

| Magical Not only are they delish, but also very good for morning sickness, seedy hungover tummies, and travel sickness (gotta love ginger!). Even better, according to my Sumatran husband, young Indonesian school kids believe that ginger candies also scare away bad spirits/ ghosts. Magic candy!

| The Best I missed these candies so much when Remo closed. For a special treat I would wander into the Oxford Street store and buy a tin. Everyone got them for Chrissy presents too. There is no better ginger treat in the world ! Thanks for bringing them back.

| ~ mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ~ rediscovered these again in a supermarket in Hong Kong last year and immediately gorged myself. they're hot! they're sweet! they're sticky! they're chewy! if you like syrupy ginger, crystallised ginger or even savoury ginger, you'll find them just as addictive...

| original currency I met these in Java where the currency is so inflated you get one or two of these as change instead of many many annoying coins. They were a shock to the tastebuds and an entertaining lost-lasting chew

| BETTER IF YOURE PATIENT these candies are what they are. always were soft and chewy. secret is if you can hold out and suck on it (instead of chewing) the flavour hits you hard!

| Gluey & Spicy They cling to their wrappers in an inordinately tenacious way, making every lolly an adventure in intra-oral wax-paper separation. Otherwise, delightfully gingery.

Was won over by so much cool stuff in the Sydney store - not least the Week Planner pad with its apparently whimsical advice:
Buy fresh flowers...Call your mother...Be nice to someone...Monitor world
population and state of
mind...Remember dry cleaning...
