Olympian Neil Rogers (72 & 76) used to run the swimming pool at the Bondi Icebergs. Most mornings Neil would have a 15 second conversation with our lap-swimming founder Remo Giuffre (not the founder of lap swimming btw). One morning the topic du jour was a new shaving oil that Oscar de Vries (one of the other daily swimmers) was importing from the UK for the Australian market. Neil had been using it after his swims and swore buy it. He urged Remo to try it. Many months and test shaves later ... here it is!

The David Somerset Skincare Company was founded in Henley-On-Thames, England in 1991, with the aim of providing men with innovative, high quality shaving and skincare products. Somersets Shaving Oil is their original shaving oil ... often copied but never equalled. So, what is it?

Somersets Original Shaving Oil is a cooling moisturising oil that lubricates the skin for an extra close shave. It is a blend of pure plant oils, including soothing essential oils (Lavender, Tea Tree & Rosemary) which help prevent razor bumps and irritation . The cooling menthol leaves the skin feeling fresh and smooth.

Only two or three drops of this lightly fragranced liquid is required. A liberal splash of water activates extraordinary lubricating powers, allowing the blade to simply glide through the toughest bristles (even Neil's).

It contains no alcohol or astringents and won't irritate even the most sensitive skin. Used over a period of time, Somersets Shaving Oil actually conditions, leaving the face moisturised and supple, quite a contrast to the harsh chemicals found in traditional foam and gels.

Finally, it is incredibly economical. Each 12 ML bottle delivers up to 260 shaves. And being small, it's ideal for travelling.

| Simple and it works.
I used to use the Proraso and before that Dior's Eau Sauvage shaving cream. Both are good, but this is better. And perfect for travelling. And, yes, 3 months from one small bottle as it really does only need 3-4 drops per shave.

| I love Somersets
This is the business! Without doubt the closest, smoothest, most comfortable shave I've ever had. I've had bad reactions to some shaving products in the past, but Somersets left me feeling great. My wife loves the result, too.

| Hubby raves about it

| The only way to shave
I bought my first bottle of this from the Green Shop in Bristol in 1991 and have used it ever since. For years I've been ordering directly from Somerset's in the UK so it's great that this wonderful product is available here in Oz. A worthy addition to the REMO line - 'buy it once and use it forever' (well, something like that anyway). Incidentally, their other products (cleansers, moisturisers etc) are also very good.
