Elton John got it right in 1976 when he wrote:
"Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word."

We received an email from Sydney CustOMER Siobhan Hannan:

"I wonder if you could think about doing a special limited edition t-shirt to commemorate 13th Feb 2008 when the new Labor Government will at long last say SORRY to the stolen generation [of indigenous Australian children]? It's going to be a momentous occasion, meaningful, symbolic, and something we can all be proud of. What do you reckon?"

What a good idea. We've come up with a couple of designs, both available on black REMO T Shirts in all sizes and styles.

The map version (see HERE) is very REMO'esque but personally we like the power of this simple word ... followed by an all important FULL STOP.

No ifs, buts or maybes. SORRY. Plain & simple.

Now, was that so hard?

P.S: We have decided to donate the profits flowing from the sales of this T Shirt to various organisations that work with lndigenous communities. Royalties will be retrospective and will cover ALL sales of this design. Cheers.

I didn't get mine in time for Sorry Day, but I did wear it to the Laneway Festival here in Adelaide, and the chick on the gate told me it was "the T-shirt of the Festival". Great quality, great sentiment. I wear it with pride. Here's hoping the "Sorry" makes a difference.

Brilliant design and sentiment. Remo is not about being wishy washy and sitting on the fence, it's about taking a stand and having an opinion regardless of whether it's about a great design or a political issue.

Angela Inman has given this product a 5 star rating | Sorry at Cheltenham Girls' High School NSW
Today our 21 Aboriginal Studies students (and the History faculty) proudly wore your 'Sorry' T Shirts. They were the envy of the school. It was an amazing day for the girls who, along with many of our senior students and staff, gathered together to watch the telecast of the Apology. It was great that the girls could wear the T Shirts which inspired many conversations and much education throughout the day. May this type of discussion and also action continue into the future. Thanks Remo for filling the order so quickly. It's fantastic that all profits are being donated too. Angela (Aboriginal Studies & History teacher)

What an uplifting day! Well done Remo - the brand that takes a stand :) For those of you who didn't feel the need to buy a T-shirt to say you are sorry, or didn't realise Remo's generosity in donating all profits to a suitable recipient, here's a couple of websites you might like to visit: http://www.getup.org.au/campaign/SaySorry&id=284 http://www.antar.org.au/sea_of_hands After all, saying sorry is just the first step... I loved the idea of a t-shirt, and have done since Midnight Oil's 'sorry suit' concert for the Sydney Olympics concert. I didn't buy one to wear today because I didn't think it was right for a private organisation to sell them for profit. How I underestimated you! Will put in an order today. I think the sorry should last a lot longer than today. it should be a sentiment to shape this next stage in history. I hope the sentiment lasts longer than the t-shirt (and knowing Remo t-shirts it will be a while...).

I wore my shirt today. All day I have fielded smiles, thumbs up, and comments like "Yes, isn't it about time", "great shirt", an admission of tears from a big burly man, and, of course, "where did you get it?" I am especially pleased that the profits will go where they are needed.

Maggie Cooper has given this product a 5 star rating | Go Kevin, go REMO
I wore my t-shirt with pride, tears and joy today, 13/02/08, and received only positive comments in Bangalow, NSW, my nearest town. Then I found out REMO was donating profits to a very worthy cause, so I am even happier now. As always, great service, great product. And Liam fry, while you are entitled to your opinion, I'm glad millions of Aussies think differently to you. PS Brenden Nelson's speech SUCKED

I have purchased a shirt for each family member to wear on the 13th and I would feel much more comfortable about my purchase if I knew that the profits (some, or all - come on dig deep) were donated to an appropriate charty.

Love this design, but it would be even better if some of the money from the sale was going to the Stolen Generation Alliance or a similar indigenous organisation. How about it Remo?

I initially liked the idea, then I got cross at REMO making money as a result of another's pain and suffering - they call that exploitation don't they?? So, make a donation and I'll buy more than one. Ask the Stolen Generations Alliance where to send the $$$$ http://www.sgalliance.org.au/

It was fantastic to have read the store was coming back, especially in the virtual world. I have cherished my 'Sydney' swimming cap and my many REMO t's.  Some of the t's are still alive and happening but new ones are very much welcome.   Also I have given many gifts around the world from your wonderful / diverse range such as the 'fortune telling fish' to the 'Sydney hankies' to your special 'T-shirts' long sleeves and short sleeves e.g. green eggs and building blocks.  I look forward to seeing your web site in full action, as I  will be happy to share the REMO love globally.
