Remember these?

Melodica was actually a trade name of the Hohner company for a series of instruments they brought out in the 1950s which were basically small hand-held breath powered reed organs.

Melodicas have been very popular in music education, especially in Asia. They also turn up in popular music from time to time, particularly in reggae (played by such masters as Augustus Pablo) and even in blues (ex-Muddy Waters sideman Paul Oscher regularly uses a melodica in his live performances).

The tone of the melodica is reminiscent of the oboe.

Love the colour, love the voice it makes, love how easy it is and I can play exactly the same "Le Moulin" from Amelie OST!

Clayton Page has given this product a 3 star rating | Severely tempted
Hmmm.... might be a late xmas present to self. Never mastered the harmonica technique, but like noodling around on a keyboard, so might have to invest in a melodica for some music therapy. Maybe I can go busking/carolling with my daughter's string trio? - need to get some ROI on a $144 self-indulgence :)

Living in a remote Australian town for 4 years, I found that shopping online was my best bet for getting the little necessaries, like gifts that everyone else in town didn't already have and Altoids. I found REMO by accident one day, and began to get neat little things. Like ginger candy so strong it would light a fire in your mouth, and Altoids. Now that I'm living in the UK, I may use REMO as a secret weapon for sending my friends back in Australia gifts... and getting nifty, uncommon Australian stuff for friends here. And for me too.
