UPDATE: SPEAKERS ANNOUNCED TODAY. SEE HERE

From the TEDxSydney website:

This first announcement features an eclectic group of 10 speakers and 3 performers including a self-made billionaire; an Aboriginal elder, actor and performer; an expert on male eating disorders; a radiation oncologist who’s waging an unprecedented battle with the global tobacco industry and some of Australia’s most highly-acclaimed and fearless musicians. More speakers and performers, as well as details of our Film program and Fast Ideas pitch competition, will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event. Fenella Kernebone, our Head of Curation, says "TEDxSydney is about providing a platform for ideas that have the power to create a palpable change in attitudes and ultimately, our lives. Whether they’re an artist, academic, author or activist, each one of these speakers brings their unique perspectives and ideas to the TEDxSydney stage." "I’m so excited about every one of our speakers this year. It is an amazingly diverse and dynamic line up – and many of them are approaching their talks in an unconventional way."
