Eternity at REMO

Eternity at REMO

We recently experienced a surge in sales of Eternity merchandise ... both the classic Eternity tribute design and Martin Sharp's Eternity at REMO version.

The reason is this:

Roy Williams, the co-author of a book about Mr Eternity was interviewed by Richard Fidler on ABC Conversations on 1 July. Listen to that podcast HERE, being sure to pay special attention at the 40:10 mark to hear about the REMO involvement in the Eternity story.

Mr. Eternity book HERE.

In this long-awaited biography, the full story of Arthur Stace’s life is told for the first time in vivid and often surprising detail. Drawing upon many original sources, some never before made public, this book appeals to anyone who loves a great Australian story.

In their book launch speech the authors Roy Williams with Elizabeth Myers credited Remo/REMO with the 90s revival of interest in Arthur’s story that led ultimately to that Sydney Harbour Bridge moment on NYE 2000.

Greetings from the Hawkesbury River

Coming to you this week from our hideout on the Hawkesbury River. Heading back to Bondi tomorrow, just in time to produce and ship all of your orders ;)

Lovely message this week from a CustOMER on Facebook will resonate with those of you who experienced 20th Century REMO and the Darlinghurst General Store:

"Those of us who are old enough and lucky enough will remember REMO with a longing that those who never went there can't understand.”

Eternity

Eternity

This is such a Sydney story.

For the 37 years spanning 1930 to 1967, a man named Arthur Stace walked the streets of Sydney ... and wrote on them; one word, always the same word, in yellow chalk in large, elegant copperplate.

That word was “Eternity.”

Welcome New CustOMERs

Welcome New CustOMERs

Life is a marathon, not a sprint.

The REMO General Store is 32 years old this year. In its heyday it was the sexy beast of Oxford Street ... and more recently a pioneer in the online space. Most recently it has become a tiny but special service based out of a garage in Bondi, with all items hand made and packed by the founders :)

Anyway, we ran a Facebook ad the other day, for the first time in ages, and it turned out to be well worth while, especially via the Instagram-sourced leads. The ad was for our top-selling navy & white REMO Stripey Thing.

It makes us wonder what could be. We have the capacity to scale and rebuild somewhat; and if we do that, it would be good news for all of us. Bigger volumes equates to a greater capacity to bring back some 20th Century winners, and develop some new products as well.

To this end, Remo uploaded a post to his Facebook page HERE ... and, as a result, was contacted by a range of people willing to help. So, you never know where this will lead, and we'll be sure to keep you all posted along the way!

Welcome New CustOMERs!

Also ... on behalf of the CustOMER community we'd like to extend a warm welcome to all of the new CustOMERs that have joined us as a result of that Facebook promotion. It's great to see the fresh blood flowing. We think you'll enjoy the ride. Check out some of our (chequered) history HERE.
