Ironing Board Covers
It's 2016, and they're back!
Here's what happened. In 1992 Judy Gold, one of our tireless 20th Century REMO product developers made herself a plain ironing board cover, because she couldn't find a pattern-free one in the shops.
We did some research and quickly discovered that there were many, many others who wanted them plain: free of florals and pointless patterns, devoid of naive and colourful Australiana references.
Cotton canvas seemed to be an intelligent way to go. The canvas is smooth enough not to transfer the grain onto delicate fabrics, yet coarse enough to grip the clothing a bit better than the shiny heat-resistant fabrics that you'll often find on an ironing board. Finally, instead of an elasticised edge, we opted rather for a perimeter cord that enables you to adjust each cover individually to each board.
